Viva Santana! is a project that takes the audience on an extraordinary journey from the 1960s and the climate of the Woodstock festival to the present day! Leszek Cichoński, Jose Torres and the band will play Carlos Santana’s greatest hits and other music that will be a total surprise!
Carlos Santana is one of the few artists whose hits have been popular for decades since the 1960s up till today. His music is a compilation of genres such as blues, rock, jazz, and mainly Latin influences. Songs such as: “Samba Pa Ti,” “Europa”, and “Oye Como Va” are classics of guitar artistry and have gained Santana loyal fans around the world.Leszek Cichoński – creator of the Guinness World Guitar Record – has decided to musically celebrate Carlos Santana’s 70th birthday. His project is called VIVA SANTANA. Since it is difficult to convey the atmosphere of this music without the sound of bongos and congas, he invited the excellent percussionist Jose Torres to join the project. In addition to the above mentioned hits, they will also play “Black Magic Woman” and “Moon Flower”, as well as newer hits like “Smooth” and Santana style versions of Polish hits like “Podaruj mi trochę Słońca” by the group Bemibem and “Asfaltowe łąki” by the group ABC.
The presence of great musicians – including jazz musicians – in the lineup allows for a very creative treatment of Carlos Santana’s music and interesting improvisations, which makes this project an excellent proposal for both outdoor events and Jazz Festivals.
