This year’s edition, traditionally a two-day event, will be held on October 26-27, 2024 at the State Music School of the First and Second Degree in Opole. It will be preceded by ELIMINATIONS based on recordings submitted by September 15.

The competition will be held in two age groups:

Group I: participants aged up to 16
Group II: participants aged 17 to 23

Preliminaries for Young Drum Hero 2024

The first stage of the preliminaries is a very simple formality.

By September 15, 2024, an email should be sent to ydh@drumfest.pl with the title YDH GR I or YDH GR II – depending on the group, and include:

• completed application form (downloadable below)
• link to the YouTube recording (which is also included in the form)

Participants will be informed of the results of the preliminaries by email by September 30, 2024. Also, a list of those who will present their skills to the jury on October 26-27 will appear on the Percussionist magazine website.

Prizes in the Young Drum Hero 2024 competition

This year’s prize sponsor is Audiomusica. Thanks to it, the winners will receive instruments and accessories from Sabian, Dixon, Aquarian or Nexon brands. Seven groups of prizes are anticipated: Grand Prix and 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in two age groups.
